Nursery School

THE EARLY YEARS PROJECT

The focus of the Nursery provision is on early intervention and priority is given to those children who are in their immediate preschool year.  Children attend a session in the Nursery from 9.30 AM to 12 PM each day, or an afternoon session from 12.30 PM to 3 PM.  Play based learning is the vehicle through which our children acquire new skills, learn new concepts and develop their ability to communicate and interact with one another. The Northern Ireland preschool guidelines are followed in the Nursery and a topic-based approach covers the areas of Language Development, Early Mathematical Experiences, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, The Arts, Physical Development and Movement and the World Around Us. Nursery staff work in collaboration with pre-school therapists to assess the children and agree individual education plans for each child.
